I prefer 12pt myself. I *think* we use 10pt as the default because
that's what Microsoft Word does. I just checked on my system, and
confirmed that MS Word *does* start with 10pt. I haven't altered the
default template or anything like that.
Still a 12pt default would be fine (even preferred) with me.
