I have committed heavy #ifdef hackery to get FreeBSD to compile. I hate
the C preprocessor. It shouldn't allow me to do this, so people wouln't
get out of serious problems the way I just did. Instead, they might _fix
_the_ _problems_.

wchar.h is required by the C standard.
A correct C impementation is required for UNIX(tm) conformance.
Therefore, FreeBSD is not UNIX.

I'm annoyed about this.
