This is a start at release notes:

Working Fields implementation

Major backend work

Major MSWord importer improvements

WML import/export

XHTML import

DocBook import/export

Pspell support (limited to Unix platforms for now. requires pspell >= 0.11.2 compiled with --enable-ldtl)

RTF import/export improvements

Non-Latin1 Language support (unix only for now). This includes CJK and Slovak locales

Dynamic Zoom

LibXML2 support updated (compile with ABI_OPT_LIBXML2)

Updated documentation (English and French)

Lots of MacOS work. We could realistically have MacOS support before the 1.0 release

Lots of updated and new platforms [TODO: add specific info for Be, QNX, Win32, GTK, Gnome]

Lots of updated and new translations. Mostly new locales after the announce support for non-latin1 languages.

Major bugfixing and stability improvements

Gnome: updated menus, dialogs, and toolbars. 100% of dialogs have Gnome equivalents.

Gnome: gnome-print support (requires gnome-print >= 0.25)
