        I'm not the GTK expert around here, but I think that those
benefits are via Pango, and only effect (by default) places where
Pango is used (standard widgets, etc.) Since we do our own drawing,
we won't get it.

        However, yes, a future version of XFree is going to use
FreeType. But, as always, this stuff ONLY helps us on Unix/GTK :(.
