I have here a patch for the first aspect of this bug (from paul's email).
If you try to save a word document, it will bring up save as instead.
This should fix the immideate problem. However, I consider this a hack.
It only works b/c we do everything by extension, and b/c word is the only
type we import but don't export. this is more evidence that we need to go
to a better type detection system. before we do that, however, we need to
have a way to sniff all the different types. we currently import 3 text
types (abw, txt, html) and 3 binary types (doc, utf8, zabw) the text
types are easy, but if we figure out a way to test the others, we should
be ok.
