The screenshots I put in the help tree I made either PNG or JPEG, usually
whichever was smaller. The JPEG parameters I used are -sample 1x1,1x1,1x1
-optimize -quality 88 except that some images I forgot to not subsample the
chrominance. This gives adequate JPEG quality for images containing text or
sharp edges.

As to browsers, PNG has been around for years and there is no reason for a
browser not to support it by now, unless it doesn't do images at all. I
recommend though that you not interlace the PNGs, as kfm does not handle this
well. I don't think we need alpha for this, which Netscape doesn't understand.
