Subject: Editing problems

Two problems with the current AbiWord release, when running on kernel
2.4.0-test4 on a Slackware 7.0-based system:

1. If you select a block of text and make a format change, making the
format change clears the selection. So, if you want to select a paragraph
of (for example) 12-point Courier plain, and make it Times Roman 18-point
bold italic, you have to either go through the Format Font... dialog, or:

        - select the paragraph
        - change the font to Times Roman
        - select the paragraph again
        - change the size to 18
        - select the paragraph *again*
        - set the Bold attribute
        - select the paragraph *AGAIN*
        - set the Italic attribute

This behavior is b0rken. Changing an attribute of a selection should not
clear the selection.

Sam responsd:
This is definitely a bug. Hopefully other people have ideas. Also,
consider filing a bug in bugzilla.

2. (This may have been already reported) It does not appear to be
possible to specify a font size that's not in the default font size list.

Sam responds:
Another bug.

Also .... when is AbiWord going to be able to use standard X fonts and
therefore have access to all the fonts on the system, instead of being
limited to its own rather small set of mostly-rather-unattractive fonts?
