As mentioned yesterday, I'm determined to figure out what it'll take to get
fields implemented. As a first step, this has meant scrolling back through
the past 6 months of abiword-dev to pull out all of the relevant design
discussions.
It's a lot to wade through, and since the email archives currently aren't
searchable, I figured it'd be worth summarizing the relevant threads as
follows:
- Known bugs in the existing implementation
- File format issues
- Miscellaneous design details
- Proposed designs on the table
- Related issues for later
(For sanity's sake, I'll send each as a separate message.)
If anyone's aware of anything I've omitted above, please speak up.
Otherwise, I plan to just crunch through all this material and see what I
can come up with.
