The attached patch squashes almost all of the compile warnings on Unix.
The ones that are left are -

3 bogus ones (they say the variable is unused, and they are wrong)

the fp_PageSize.cpp warning about aggregates which I don't understand

some warnings about differing exceptions relating to wv that I don't want
to deal with

one that would require some ifdef'ed code to be un-ifdef'ed.

If this works on our other platforms, I'll commit it.
