HI Randy,
One of the challenges for me in writing ABiWord is that I haven't
actually used many features of MS Word. I'll have to find out exactlywhat
an outline is.
Here is what you can do with lists. You can create an ordinary list like
this
1. First one
2. Second one
3. Third one
Where 1. 2. 3. can be a) b) c) or A) B) C) or (i) (ii) (iii) or
<<<<<1>>>>-->> <<<<<2>>>-->> <<<<<3>>>->> ... or anything like that.
You can have regular bullet point lists or a number of interesting
replacements for bullet symbols like "-" or squares, triangles, boxes,
hands, hearts...
You can also have sub lists like:
1.
2.
2.1
2.2
2.3
3.
These can be nested indefinately
2.1
2.1.1
2.1.1.1
2.1.1.1.a
You can set each "." seperator to anything you like: eg
2--1>>>1<<<<1))))a
as well as encapsulate each sub element in its own enclosing text. eg
(2).<1>.<<1>>.1).(((a)
The font and style properties of each paragraph with a list element are
inherited by the next list element.
The paragraphs following a list element initially aquire a new list
element but this can be deleted and the next element will be updated to
account for this.
Anyway, please try out the feature and give us your feedback. Tell us if
it does what you want and if doesn't tell us the behaviour you expected.
That would be very helpful.
