The standalone utilities I have seen to convert TTF -> pt1,pt3 can
convert many, but not all fonts. If AbiWord were able to reliably
convert TTF in vector format, then the code would also be useful as a
standalone utility.

Converting many TTF would be OK if there were an efficient test to
exclude fonts that can't be handled from the users font list.
