Hi David,
All of our defaults "default" to the en-US settings, which means that inches
are used as units, en-US as the language, etc...
However, AbiWord automatically detects the environment that you're running
under so things like menus and spell-checking should "just work" in any
environment.
Now, I'm 99% sure that I put this code into XP-land, so that all platforms load
the correct system.profile and get the correct language for spell-checking.
I've tested this thoroughly when I've had to write papers in German. But I've
never tested this in a release build, only my CVS builds (but I don't see why
anything should be different).
I suggest highlighting a block of text, right-click, and use the language
dialog to see how the text is actually marked.
