There seems to be some lack of documentation on this, which is what
generates the confusion.

Why? It's a greater download time, sp;ecially if you have the fonts
already. Fonts usually do not change, and it's a 2Mb rpm for the fonts
alone.
Clipart likewise, and many help documents.
Plugins just as well.
Can you give a greater, and major, reason to make non necessary huge
files other than confusion derived from lack of documentation, which can
be quite easily fixed?
