Subject: fails to compile wv

I can't compile Abiword for a very long time alerady... It alwasy fails at
one file in wv:
make[5]: Entering directory `/home/menesis/cvs/wv'

However, if I cd into wv directory and run make, it compiles. One trick --
it compiles error.c, and links, runs ranlib... every time.
I solved this, by installing wv deb package and removing peer directory. But
there shouldn't be such problem.
