This patch looks really good on the whole and lets us keep the gnome-print
work. It also makes it easy to turn this off once I begin work on GnomePrint
again and make it handle non-latin1 locales. If someone would commit this
(I'm in classes for another 3 hrs) and make these few corrections, I'd
appreciate it:
1) Please enable this by default and have an ifeq(DIRECT_PRINT,0) turn it
off. This should involve a one-line change to abi_defs.mk
2) Change the tooltip string that says something like "Print not using
gnome-print" to something more positive like "Print using our internal PS
driver"
Also, please commit the RU strings and the Symbol/Dingbats font patch. I'm
not wholly satisfied with any solution to date, but at least with these 2
patches, you'll be able to print glyphs in "Sybmol" Fonts again on Unix
GTK+/Gnome. More to follow...
If no one does this by like 3PM US EST, I'll commit Vlad's work myself.
