 I thought it should be configurable (with sane default - "enable direct
printing") - so most people didn't need to set any evironment variable.
 Also I have a hope that direct printing won't be needed some day (when GP
becomes mature).

 Of course it adds menu item and forces some gtk port's files to be built
too (PS generation code of course - gnome port didn't build them
unconditionally before this patch).
