I can't say for sure that this is a result of the recent
changes that allow "dot" files to be opened as if they
were "doc" files. But it seems likely, since it happens
on the latest nightly build but not 0.7.13. I am using
the win32 version.

When you specify the "Microsoft Word(.doc,.dot)" file
type in the Open dialog, AbiWord won't show files of
either type.
