Cuenca's patch (committed this morning) seems to be screwing up the display
of normal glyphs: I'm getting weird international characters on my AbiWord
document display instead of Latin1. Uwog also seems to be experiencing this
problem. I'm backing out the change for now..

[ my setup, fwiw, is keithp's latest fontconfig/xft/xft2 combo w/ XFree4.1 ]

Revert changes made to make Xft capable of displaying individual glyphs-- all glyphs are being displayed incorrectly as a result of the patch.
