Build Error on Linux

Trying to use the autoconf build of the latest CVS, with debug and gnome
enabled, it chokes with:

/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lfreetype
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[5]: *** [AbiWord_d] Error 1
make[5]: Leaving directory
`/home/David/abiword/abi/src/wp/main/unix/gnome'
make[4]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[4]: Leaving directory `/home/David/abiword/abi/src/wp/main/unix'

According to hub, we don't depend on freetype, so it shouldn't be doing
this. Any suggestions? Thanks.
