Thanks David :-) A hyperlink can also jump you to a bookmark in the
document.
I was thinking of adding a feature to open any of abiword's readable files
on the web if the hyperlink's URL was considered valid by gnome-vfs. The
document would open in a new abiword window. If the link was to a HTML
document though the link would open a browser.
This would be very easy to do using gnome-vfs but since we're in feature
freeze I decided not to. Also at the time we were sitting ducks for buffer
overun exploits because we had tons of sprintf's into fixed size
arrays. Now Dom has implemented the UT_String_sprint functions
for all the importers we're pretty safe but still I think it is better to
press on with bug-fixing the features we've got for now. Though this would
be pretty cool.
It would be quite easy to turn abiword into an editable
web-browser if one we so inclined. Give users total control over what
appears on their screens :-)
Cheers!
Martin
