windows/cygwin build problems

Hello,

I am trying to build the latest CVS-Source with cygwin 1.3.14 and
VC++6.0SP2. But it always stops with the following line:

fatal error C1083: Cannot open compiler generated file:
'H:\cygwin2win\h\code\src\abiword\abi\src\WIN32_1.3.14_i386_OBJ\obj\zlib\
adler32.obj': No such file or directory

I searched the list archives, and it seems like this is a "common"
problem. Ppl. were suggesting to move the sourcetree outside the
cygwin-directory, but that didn't help (I tried /win/c/abisource-cvs =
c:\abisource-cvs, and the one above, and a virtual drive created with
subst, none worked.)

Any suggestions/pointers/anything are welcome!
