commit: fix status bar charset conversion problem (in all platforms)

Hello,

When running Abiword in Catalan or Spanish language the status bar was showing
a wrong string. In Catalan, instead of "Pāgina..." i was shown "Pina". It was
due to a charset enconding problem. It's fixed in Windows. I saw the same
problem under Linux, then I think that it will fix the Linux also.

Please, confirm that this shows properly in Linux also.
