    This one is for sviles of bugzilla help.

    I tracked down and fixed an elusive bug that caused MingW builds to crash
    on startup for Win98. We failed to trap a system call error return (-1)
    and instead assumed it was valid memory requirement and used it to
    allocate memory. Why it worked for MSFT builds (there was a debug warning
    hidden in all the debug messages) I will never know.
