wv module some binary files corrupt?

Can anyone else checkout and use the binary files in wv,
for example wv\patterns\102.gif or wv\notes\macros-notes\*.zip
Some of the files are ok and some aren't. This is not urgent
nor necessary for building AbiWord, just curious if it was me
(and the fact that cvs will corrupt binary files not checked
in as such) or if the files are invalid for others also.
