    The po files are generated from the string files. They are used to help people
    to use well-known translation tools like Kbabel.

    I think that the current approach is acceptable. Currently we already use the
    XML parser for lots of things, using gettext will add an extra dependency and
    will make us to get a bit bigger also.

    BTW, 2.0.2 for win32 is 6Mb already.
