    Hi, I've place the RPMS I built for RedHat 9 at
    savannah.gnu.org/download/abiword/1.99.1

    Please, pay attention to the files that are over there.
    Some dependencies need to be satisfied.

    IMPORTANTE DEPENDENCIES

      Under misc are certain libraries that these abiword RPMS need.

      BE WARNED! I've tried to keep the number of libraries you need to
    download
      to a minimum if you're using RedHat 9. I have limited time and can't
    do much
      more. If you can do other build options, please do so! :)

    DIRECTORIES

    misc/
      Libraries that you will need.
      Tipically, you won't need to install the -devel or source rpms,
    they're
      there because they're both convenient but also required, as stated by
    the
      GNU GPL and GNU Lesser GPL.

    redhat/
      AbiWord RPMS as built on different ReadHat versions (I'm only able to
    so for
      RedHat 9, so if you want other releases, help by contributing, not
    demanding)

    PACKAGE SIGNATURES

      Even though I sign my keys with gpg key ID:

    ... you may decide to trust only enough to check for file corruption.
    You can do that with rpm --checksig file.rpm (although it may complain
    about
    missing gpg keys) or sha1sum file.rpm and compare with the lists I add
    in each
    folder.

    ABOUT

      These rpms are built against libraries contained in RedHat's GNU/Linux
      9 CDs. This means support for GTK+/GNOME 2.2.x and font antialiasing.
      There's little likelihood that it may work on older RedHat releases
    unless
      you recompile the source rpm with: rpm --rebuild
    abiword-1.9.1-1.src.rpm
      AND have fairly recent GTK+/GNOME 2.2.x libraries.
      Note if using rpm >= 4.1: rpmbuild --rebuild abiword-1.9.1-1.src.rpm

    PLUGINS

      The plugins are now collected in two packages:
        - extra import/export
        - extra tools
      Have you installed the packages from misc/? You will need some of
    them...

    REQUIRED:

      You should just need to grab one and only one of these:
            abiword-gtk-1.99.1-1.i386.rpm
            abiword-gtk-1.99.1-1.i686.rpm (optimized for i686)
            abiword-gnome-1.99.1-1.i386.rpm (gnome support)
            abiword-gnome-1.99.1-1.i686.rpm (gnome support, optimized for i686)

      The gnome builds require a recent gal. I'm a nice guy, you can fetch
    it
      here (at misc/) as well.

      These will give extra flavours to the juice:

      abiword-clipart (ooo pictures!)
      abiword-plugins-impexp (extra document import/export plugins)
                             REQUIRES libwpd and libgsf
      abiword-plugins-tools (extra plugins providing some tools)
                             REQUIRES ots and aiksaurus

      abiword-embeddable (I'm not really sure this really works right
    now...)

    SOURCE

      Get the src.rpm in the SRPMS dir.
