    That means that either (a) the Unix version of doesGlyphExist() does
    not work (reporting the 0xfb01 ligature present), or, (b) the Unix text
    drawing rutine does not work. The latter is very unlikely, since AFAIK
    the various Hebrew/Yiddish ligatures work on Unix when the glyph is
    present.
