I completely fail to reproduce your problem. It seems to be something
related to your local setup, maybe a theme issue or a broken GTK+ or
libglade(ui) setup.
AbiWord uses a pretty standard method to add this help button, so I
can't reconstruct what the origin of your problem is.
Do you have similar problems with other applications' dialogs?
