Administrative stuff

Hi guys,

There are a few administrative things that have popped
up. I'll list them briefly.

1) Regarding the "AbiWord Commercial Support Listings"
thread, I'll email them with your responses. It
appears that we'll work something out.

2) Regarding the PayPal account. If you haven't read
about, there's this whole PayPal class action lawsuit
going on. Basically, anyone who has had their account
frozen is entitled to part of a cash settlement. The
AbiWord account has been frozen on about a dozen
occasions over the years, presumably because it has
recieved money from you pesky Europeans. Stop sending
us $10 donations, you terrorists! Or something...

Anyway, we have a few options, which I think include:

A) Not caring
B) Suing them ourselves
C) Settling and filling out the short order form, and
being guaranteed $50
D) Filling out the long order form, and getting
involved in a potentially long legal mess that, if
successul, will win us marginally more than $50

My vote is for C followed by A. Let me know your
thoughts. We need to act quickly here.

3) Samth apparently lives 6 blocks from me now, and
just dropped off some AbiWord schwag left over from
the SourceGear days. Apparently we have something like
11 "Show me the Source" T-Shirts and 16 "Show me the
Source" tote bags. Exactly all of the merchandise
features everyone's favorite ant and trademarked logo.
Exactly none of the merchandise features an inanimate
carbon rod.

I know that some of you have shirts (me, Martin, Hub,
...). I know that some of you out there don't have any
Abi-gear (MG, Marc, Tomas, ...). You QA folk just
rock, especially RP and Mikey who have recently
graduated to patch submitter status. It's a thankless
job, but with a pledge of only 100 more hours QA work,
you get a fashionable PBS tote bag.

We should come to some consensus on what to do with
the stuff. I can arrange to mail it to you or drop it
off in person (there's apparently a Gnome Summit in
Boston this October, and there's always GUADEC). A
bunch of people definitely deserve something for their
hard work. We might want to use the rest for patch
prizes, raffles, or for wet t-shirt contests. No
crazy, pantless French people allowed.

Anyway, let me know what you think.

Cheers,
Dom
