Whoops! I should also have describe one other big change. I moved the
preferences dialog from the "tools" menu to the edit "menu" in Accordance
with the GNOME HIG. (Plus this makes sense to me.)

I should I have asked before committing this change but the Abi devels at
GUADEC were all in agreement with this change.
