Sweeeet!!! I'd really appreciate being able to add dictionaries manually.
While Oxford is not free the unversity has subscribed to it (which is why
I did not immediately realise it was not free) and it is really good
quality dictionary. I really look forward to being able to use it thanks
to your work.
I have probably ranted about acronyms before but URL is a really nasty
word (real words like location or address are often a much clearer choice)
and I would encourage you to rename the new improved and more versatile
plugin to something more descriptive and easily understandable like
AbiWebDict.

"AbiGoogle" the sound of that word is something else, it really
wacky, silly and makes me smile :) (I've got to get out more!)
To be consistant I should suggest renaming this to something that better
describes what it does but I cannot quite think of a succint way to convey
"Search the web for this word using $SEARCH_ENGINE"
from looking at the current code for AbiGoogle

That seems like a worthwhile improvement but it seems like it could get
very messy. Each language has a different domain, for example
en.wikipedia.org for English
fr.wikipedia.org for French
etc
To do this in a safe and robust way you would probably want to lookup a
whitelist (config file) that lists languages that are known to be
supported otherwise you will end up with the same kind of mess we have
with the help files where anyone not in exactly the correct local gets no
help at all rather than falling back to what is actually available (I
realise this has been improved in recent times but it was still pretty
annoying).
Making the Link configurable rather than trying to guess at it might be a
better approach.
