abicocoa patch

2 little modification:

1- show() is called 2 times on new/open document, resulting in the ugly
page at launch with the black bars. seems to work fine with the tests
i've done and is much nicer

2- is already included in another patch I sent yesterday, it force a
screen redraw when the rulers are shown.
