This is a KDE bug. See http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=79464.

I believe it was fixed in KDE 3.2.3. Or you can turn of the "Apply
colors to non-KDE apps" the bug report references.

Note: My apologies if this is a duplicate. I tried sending it yesterday
from a different email address (not my subscribed address) and I've
checked the archives and it's not there.

I've installed AbiWord 2.1.7 on my Mandrake 10 system. When I select
text, it is neither highlighted nor in inverse video. However, the
selection has occurred (if I press delete, the selection is deleted).

I searched bugzilla for [selection not visible] in the summary, and got
the infamous "Zarro Boogs" message.

I may have other problems with my Mandrake 10 installation causing this
problem. If anyone else sees the same problem, or if someone thinks
it's worthwhile filing a bug, I will -- let me know.
