Fix bugs in flickerless selection.
uwog reported some bad bugs with selection dirt. This is all fixed now.
Also cleaned up the code cosniderablly. This code is also a prime candiate
for event dropping since we can easily generate selection "lag" if if
rapidly wave your mouse over the screen.
I'll look into this.
