Plugin won't link against piecetable

I am trying to derive a plugin from ie_imp_xml. When building it all
goes fine but when running it complains with:

abiword: symbol lookup error:
/usr/local/lib/AbiWord-2.6/plugins/libAbiPDFS.so: undefined symbol:
_ZN11IE_Imp_PDFSC1EP11PD_Document

I tried comparing my makefile.am's and plugin.m4's to other ie_imp_xml
derivatives but I can't find anything missing.

attached are the plugin.m4 and both GNUMakefile.am's.

Does any of you know what I'm doing wrong?
