Mac OS X and fonts

I wonder if you could help me:

I am using a concordance program (antconc) under X11/Mac OS X 10.4
which does not display my Unicode fonts correctly (some characters
are replaced by incorrect ones). At the same time, under the same X11
installation and using the same fonts and files, AbiWord displays
everything correctly. I would like to know how AbiWord handles Mac OS
fonts so that it could somehow be told the concordance program as well.

I would appreciate your suggestions.
