GTK Mathview plugin on Ubuntu?

Hey - trying to figure out why the math plugin crashes on Ubuntu.
Someone (sum1?) mentioned something about the wrong version of the
compiler - Hardy uses gcc-4.2. If anyone has any idea why this might be
happening (this is also 0.8.0) please let me know, so that I can make
fixed packages (of 0.7.8) and force them out on the Abiword-Stable
repository to all abiword users.
