Editing of textboxes is very very slow in pyabiword on xo / write activity

Hi Martin,

First of all, I would like to thank you for all the help you have
provided in the development of the NewsPaper Activity ( the name we
have thought for our version ) , so that we are close to an alpha
release in the near future. Thanx to Tomeu and Marc as well for their
help. And surely to the abiword community for their valuable
suggestions.

Currently, I am dealing with a problem regarding the performance of
write activity to deal with text boxes. As, I have to create
templates, I have to deal with textboxes in the activity, however
editing the data in the text boxes on the write actiivty / pyabiword
on xo , is really very slow, I mean it takes a lot of time to write
even simple words or make simple changes.

I am not sure whether this problem is due to the way pyabiword deals
with textboxes in 2.6 version or due to the limited hardware resources
available on the xo. If this problem is due to version 2.6 , then has
it been improved in 2.7 version ? I am also attaching 2 of the sample
templates which I am using in my own activity, kindly open them with
the write activity in order to have a look at the issues I am talking
about.

I also wanted to add more pages to the documents but adding more
pages, makes the activity so slow that it hangs after a while. I also
tried it with the normal .odt versions of these templates, but they
are equally slow.

 Kindly give your suggestions about where exactly is the problem and
how can it be improved? Kindly let me know if I am wrong in any of the
ways I am dealing with the text boxes.
