Adding unicows support probably won't be necessary. The 2.6 series
doesn't work on Win9x, and I don't see anyone spending time on the
issue (for more info:

You can get a better idea of some of the existing problems by looking
at bug reports in Bugzilla (I selected the 'Front End - Windows'
component and added the 'intl' keyword to get the following list:
http://tinyurl.com/abiwin32unicode). To help your application, you
can read the reports to identify problematic areas that you can
address in your proposal and later fix during your project. This will
also be helpful when you plan a rough timeline for the summer.
