Hi Fabian,
             And everyone else! We have endeavoured to make abicollab
gf proof with a web-service based on http:://abicollab.net

Unfortunately because of some bugs we have not yet enabled this
backend to be built by default not is it available in our binary
distribution. Nevertheless it actually works very well.  You need to
pass the option:

--enable-service-backend

To the configure line as well as building the abicollab plugin.

Give it a try if you're interested! In my opinion it beats the pants
off Google Docs as a collaborative Word Processor.
