I would not complain if someone is willing to maintain both.

A note on dependencies: there are packages that are required by the
plugins and not by the abiword core program; e.g. boost for the
abicollab plugin and libxslt for the latex plugin. If you list these
packages as dependencies, might want to clarify which plugin depends
on it.
