A friend asked me why there had been no release since October 27th
2009, and I explained that this was not the case - pointed to 2.8.6
stable and 2.9.1 -dev.
However, the confusion is understandable, looking at abisource.com.
Posting a date for latest release would be useful.
Also, what is the intention with the 2.9 branch - will it transition to
stable or into a 2.10-stable branch?
