Concern about translations

Hello,

The current situation for the Abiword translations, worries me.

In the first place it's unclear how we should submit new translations
(or improvements for existing translations).

The website tells us to submit as translation by attaching the .po
file to an e-mail, and send it to this mailing list. But a developer
has reacted to my submission, by saying that I should have used the
Pootle server at Sugar Labs. In a rather rebuking and negative way. A
rebuke that I did not deserve imho, for how could I have known?

In the second place, committing new submissions of translations has
been very much delayed lately. At least in my experience. This causes
problems, because now the new translations may not appear in time for
important downstream distro releases (*buntu 12.04, for one).

In the third place, lack of communication by the devs to the
translators. At least to me. I have posed two polite requests to a
dev. Namely: please change the text on the Abiword website, to make
clear that new translations should be done by means of the Sugar Labs
Pootle server. And please commit my new translation soon, because of
the distro releases.

On both requests I have received no answer at all. Nothing. Silence.

This concerns me. It harms my motivation as a translator, and I may
not be the only one who feels that way. This is bad for Abiword.
Please do something about it.

Regards, Pjotr.
