Ah, excellent, you are right. Abiword highlighting doesn't work with the
Geramic theme. It's odd, because other GNOME-2 programs like gedit and
gnumeric show highlighted text OK, so it is weird that this problem only
afflicts abiword.
I like Geramic because it enables me to use a similar theme for both KDE and
GNOME applications. As smart quotes don't work either, I will use another
word processor. But thanks for your help.
