        I've looked at GtkHTML's and it's unfortunately still pretty
weak :(. One set of code that's MUCH farther along in terms of
rendering tables (and handling selections, though not editing) is the
wxHTML module from wxWindows. (all comments about switching XP
libraries directed to /dev/null). If someone is pursuing tables,
it's a nice place to look.
