A while back I posted a message to the list on ZAPPING the release
practices POW. I now write to report on the status.

ANSI compliance

I believe that some progress has been made on the front of making our
string manipulation functions ANSI C++ compliant. James Montgomerie has
written a patch for this, but did not submit it, as 0.7.8 was about to
freeze.

location of BUILD.TXT

This has not been moved, although there was consensus on the list that it
was a good idea to move it up one directory level.

Documentation on the website

Not much progress on this front. I am still hosting the supplied
documentation in HTML form on bur-jud-118-039.rh.uchicago.edu/abiword/.
Bob has said that he will work on moving these to the AbiWord site.

Filenames

We still use underscores, and I don't care. If anyone wants to change
that, its fine, but it should not be considered neccesary.

FTP sites

This is the worst problem, and is still not resolved. Someone really
should submit our files to Metalab above all, and to other FTP sites ASAP.

We have yet to migrate our code to ANSI C. ;-)
