I like your option 1 myself. As a feature request, it would be nice to be
able to choose default/vi/emacs keybings in the options dialog.
Hmm, I'm having fun imagining a Church Secretary faced with vi
keybindings. (emacs rulz... Sorry couldn't resist :-)
