In attempting to generate errors to test the patch that I just submitted,
I noticed several peculiearites about abiword's save file naming
conventions:

1 it is impossible to save a file w/o an extension, at least on
linux systems. I think this is a problem, and will try to find a way to
fix it. however, wether this is a bug or a feature should be discussed
additionally, no extension other than those in the dialog are currently
possible. (new extensions are added on top of old ones currently)

2 if you click on a directory in the save as dialog (again in linux)
and without typing anything in the name field, it creates a file such as
.abw in the selected directory. i cannot imagine this being useful, and
it is certainly not likely to be the expected behavior.

hope we can get this fixed
