OK folks,

Linux World is next week, and it's been a *long* time since 0.7.7 shipped.
As Shaw hinted last week, we're currently trying to nail things down for a
pre-show 0.7.8 release. As part of the process, I want to make sure that we
haven't left anything out of this release that really, really ought to be in
it.

I've done my usual pre-release pass through the email and Bonsai logs to try
to summarize the highlights of everything that's in this release. Here's
what I've found:

  - True WYSIWYG support (BruceP@wn.com.au)
  - No more character dirt (BruceP@wn.com.au)
  - Overline (msevior@mccubbin.ph.unimelb.edu.au)
  - Fixed minor display glitches (#375, 583, 588, 714)
  - Better support for non-English content (henrik@lansen.se)
  - Swedish localization (henrik@lansen.se)
  - Indonesian localization (tim@proximity.com.au,
    made@nakula.rvs.uni-bielefeld.de)
  - Danish, Finnish, French, Italian (dot0037@iperbole.bologna.it),
Norwegian (kmaraas@online.no), and Spanish localizations updated
  - LaTeX exporter (cuenca@ie2.u-psud.fr)
  - Various Word import improvements (#630-632, 634, 684)
  - Error propagation to fix #343, 563, 626, 665, 682, and 683
    (sytobinh@uchicago.edu)
  - Mouse wheel support for Windows (BruceP@wn.com.au)
  - Unix no longer requires libstdc++
  - Misc PostScript fixes (bob@sbst.com)
  - RPM fixes for GNOME desktop integration (birger.langkjer@image.dk)

By my count, the following four patches are all still pending:

  - Insert Date and Time dialog (1/15, megabyte@salesexplosion.com)
  - Update copyrights to 2000, #275 (1/19, sytobinh@uchicago.edu)
  - BR, HTML as XHTML, #629 (1/27, sytobinh@uchicago.edu)
  - Command-line document conversion (1/27, cuenca@ie2.u-psud.fr)

Two questions for anyone with stuff to contribute to this release:

  1. Did I miss anything or leave anyone out?
  2. Do you have code *related to these features* that you want checked in?

There's been a real flurry of activity recently, so now it's time for us all
to focus on assessing and improving the stability of this release. As soon
as we get 0.7.8 stabilized and shipped, everyone can dive back into the
usual free-for-all process of implementing new features.

Thanks,
Paul
