It was just an idea. The Bullets and Numbering dialog allows all the
functionality you could want in lists including changing a list from
numbered to lower case lettered, upper case lettered, bulleted,
multi-levels of bullets and numbers all in an easy to use modeless dialog
that reflects the current state of the list (or lack thereof) that the
cursor is sitting on. It slices bread too :-)

Personally as a MS user I usually just started and stopped numbered and
bulleted lists the mannor I described so I was wondering if other people
thought it would be a good idea to devote some of our scarce screen
real-estate to two such butons. An alternate that I also like is a button
that when pressed launches the Bullets and Numbering dialog (look under
format). It would be really easy to do this. However the point is what
would be best for our users. If our developers are finding it hard to
start a list I think we can be sure it would be much harder for a Church
Secretary.
